As a candidate you can contract with Progressive People as either a PAYG employee or through your own Pty Ltd company. You will be given timesheets to fill out on a weekly basis - an appropriate manager at the site where you are working should countersign these. The timesheets should then be faxed or emailed to us for the processing of the payment due to you. We pay our contractors on a fortnightly basis. Progressive People will deposit the payment directly into the bank account of your choice.
(Pay as You Go) If you are unsure of the contracting world, this may be a way for you to test out the contracting waters. Once we have secured a contract position for you, you simply sign Progressive’s contract, which will maintain your PAYG status as an employee. In addition you will need to complete a Tax Declaration form. Progressive will pay you an hourly rate and will be responsible for PAYG tax deductions and the payment of the legislated superannuation requirements. For each payment made to you, we will issue you with an Income Statement which outlines the hours worked, the gross amount of the payment, the tax deducted, the amount of superannuation applicable for that period, year to date figures and the net amount of your pay cheque.
(through your own Consultancy Company)
Progressive People will pay you an hourly or daily rate, and your company is responsible for making your taxation deductions and making the superannuation obligations. Upon signing the contract, we will require evidence that you have a current Workers Compensation policy. Progressive People will pay you on a fortnightly basis once you have submitted an invoice for payment. Your invoice should include the total amount of hours worked for the pay period, the hourly rate and the total amount due.
For further information on the differences between PAYG status and PTY LTD status, please contact one of our consultants, or you can seek the advice of your accountant who will be able to advise you of any other insurances, legalities and tax issues which may be applicable to you.
Allowing Progressive People to assist in your career or contract search gives you a competitive edge as our specialisation enables us to find a role within our solid blue chip client base. Your resume is treated with total confidence and will not be presented to any clients without your permission. When preparing your resume, make it clear and easy to read. Use bullet points instead of a maze of words - particularly when describing the tasks you have been carrying out at each job. Include all information, for example - personal details, education details, technical skills summary.
Details of each position in your employment history should be listed commencing with the most recent. Include in each position the name of employer, your position, dates of employment, hardware and software used, a brief description of what the employer does and, a point form description of your role and responsibilities.
